Gone are the days of the compartmentalized rooms in houses. Open floor plans make spaces seem more extensive and more inviting. Figuring out how to revamp your space is overwhelming. Sometimes sacrifices have to be made, but having usable space is worth the struggles.
Listed below is a recent full kitchen remodel. (along with several other rooms, you can check out more pictures here) Our client purchased a pre-existing custom home over 15 years ago and had done several DIY updates between now and then. But paint and crown molding just wasn’t cutting it any longer.
Stained concrete, wasted spaces above the cabinets, and dated cutouts.
Our client struggled with using larger pots on the stove because the microwave was too low. The open walk-through to the dining room used up a lot of precious real estate, and they wanted to open up the kitchen into the living room so it didn’t seem so cut off from guests. Our client also wanted more drawer space rather than cabinets. We were able to customize drawers throughout the cabinetry, allowing them to utilize their storage space in a way that best suited them.
River City Construction and Design was able to gut this existing kitchen entirely and add more custom cabinets, user-friendly space, and a hand-crafted island big enough for the largest of families.
Without wanting to let a single inch go to waste, the side of the custom cabinets near the fridge was capped off with a utility closet. The closet is outfitted with an outlet to store their brooms, cleaning supplies, and cordless vacuum; this also allows our clients to use their newly remodeled pantry solely for food storage.
The new wood floors, brighter paint, and white cabinets with the gorgeous stained hood opened up the space. A dreary-dated kitchen now flipped into a crisp upscale and inviting space where your family can truly gather around and enjoy each other’s company.
